Both are from the Meta company and each one has some advantages over the other. I personally use Facebook to target a mature type of audience and Instagram to target younger audience. I’m a fan of both. And since Facebook owns Instagram, it’s not hard at all to run ads on both platforms. When you build a campaign within Facebook ads, you can add Instagram placements. And then after you run a campaign, you can analyze the data by the platform to see which one actually outperformed the other.
I have seen that:
Instagram works better for brands that are very visual, that have a story and awesome, high-quality videos. Lower price-point brands also perform better on this platform.
If you’re a B2B business or service, lead forms on Facebook work great to capture information. Lead forms can be filled out within Facebook and autofill, depending on your fields. So it’s typically a higher conversion rate than landing a user on a landing page with a form.
