For customer service, they are the best. Chatbot is like a person who is always there to answer your questions, day and night. They are good at handling simple questions, and they are fast and give immediate responses through day and night.

Using chatbots can help businesses learn about their customers and save time and money.



One of the greatest advantages of chatbots is that they can handle thousands of customers at a time, during busy days in offices or stores they are real-time savers


Chatbots are like an online salesman in which they can suggest things you like and having a chatbot is like having a research team of your own. They can learn about customers and their preferences, which improves products and services.

I personally prefer live chat over chatbots because I like to establish a personal bond with my customers and build brand loyalty in their minds through personalised conversations. I can remember the past conversations and mention the same during a Live chat. But with Chatbot, the answers and conversations are really mechanical and automated. I can't build a bond with my customer.

However, I still use chatbots in some of our websites. For example, there are few client websites in which a client interaction rarely happens. In such cases, it is not always feasible to enable Livechat and wait for live interactions. In such cases, I use chatbot to give automated responses.

I have in fact developed a ChatGPT based chatbot which can give highly personalised and contextual responses. I can feed a lot of context information about our company to ChatGPT and it will use that information to respond to the chatbot queries. It works perfectly well.

Now let me come to the point. To answer your question about the benefits of chatbots, it indeed helps in scaling up the support system. There is no time barrier. The chatbots work 24/7. Also, I can take care of my personal life and the chatbot will work for me. Whenever the customer want to talk directly to me, at that point of time, chatbot will transfer the conversation to me and from there, I will take it forward. 

In short, chatbot is a cheaper alternative to Live chat but it can't really provide the benefits of a real human based chat system.
