Can we use WhatsApp API to send message to WhatsApp group?

Does WhatsApp business API support sending bulk messages to WhatsApp groups? Is it possible to add a WhatsApp business API account to a group and then participate in group message communications?

I wish this were supported. I am also eagerly waiting for this.

As of now, the WhatsApp API does not support sending messages to WhatsApp groups. This feature has been highly anticipated by users and developers alike. While it is currently not possible, there is a possibility that this capability may be included in future updates to the APIs.

The WhatsApp API allows businesses to integrate WhatsApp messaging into their systems, enabling automated and large-scale communication. We have been using WhatsApp API with some of ou applications including the CRM and ERP systems to communicate with the Leads, Clients and Employees. We built some custom applications using WhatsApp API.

We used WhatsApp API so far only to send out messages to individual WhatsApp accounts and not to any WhatsApp groups. So far, we didn't have a use case to send out messages via API to the WhatsApp groups.

When I saw this question, I did some research and also went through the official documentation of WhatsApp Business APIs. I saw many websites that talk about APIs to send messages to the WhatsApp groups. Some sites have even given sample code to send messages to the groups.

But the official documentation does not show any APIs that allow communications to the WhatsApp groups.

I did detailed research and concluded that WhatsApp APIs are not available to send messages to WhatsApp groups. The earlier versions of WhatsApp APIs had some support for sending messages to groups but those APIs have been discontinued. 

The conclusion is, that you cannot send messages to WhatsApp groups via WhatsApp APIs even if the number you used for APIs is part of any groups.
