I want to become a web designer in which I would like to know the essential skills required for a web designer to create the best web design for the website and the latest technologies that are needed to be adopted for learning.

In this era of Internet, a good web design outshines everything else. Even the statement ‘content is king’ becomes invaluable with bad design. Moreover, a website with good design and no content can gain more clickthrough rates compared to other websites containing both moderate design and good content. I would personally prefer a website with good design with less content as I feel my generation has less attentions span and will pay less attention to much content on the website. However, this is bad in SEO perspective as the search engine crawlers need content to understand and rank a website! However, let me tell you some points I jotted done on conversation with my web-developer friends as well as friends from design backgrounds - 

• Graphic Design: An understanding of color theory, typography, and layout design is crucial to creating a visually appealing website. The ability to use design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch is also essential.

• User Experience Design: A good web designer must be able to put themselves in the shoes of the website's users and create a design that is easy to navigate, with a clear hierarchy and intuitive user interface.

• Web Typography: The ability to choose and use typography effectively is a key skill for web designers. The typography used on a website can greatly impact the user experience and the overall look and feel of the site.

• Responsive Design: With the rise of mobile devices, it is essential that web designers understand responsive design and can create a website that looks great on any device.

• Creative Problem Solving: Web designers must be able to think creatively to solve problems that arise during the design process. This includes finding innovative solutions to design challenges and troubleshooting technical issues.

The most essential skill, more than creativity, I would prefer in a good web designer is the communication skill.
